Junior camp consists of campers entering junior kindergarten through second grade.  Boys and girls participate in a wide variety of sports activities such as baseball, soccer, basketball, football, and group games, reinforcing sports skills, in a beautiful urban setting in Lincoln Park.

Swimming is held, rain or shine, 4 times a week, at the Ray Meyer Fitness Center. Fred's camp swim instructors follow American Red cross guidelines to ensure progress for all swim levels. The ratio in the pool is 4:1 which provides a safe nurturing environment for everyone.

Campers also receive weekly music, drama, dance, yoga, soccer, and arts & crafts as a part of the curriculum.  Kindergarten groups are co-ed, while first and second grade groups are separated by grade and gender. Campers participate in a variety of team building activities to facilitate positive group dynamics.

All  kindergarten and 1st grade groups are greeted by weekly performers and shows, formally known as Fred's Follies, further entertaining campers. Local entertainers bring their magic, juggling, and comedy to campers throughout the summer. The excitement continues off campus with weekly field trips to water parks, children museums, and a few suprise trips along the way.

Senior camp consists of campers who are entering third through fifth grade. Campers continue to enjoy some of their favorite camp activities – such as art & crafts, music, dance, yoga, and sports & games to name a few.

We are excited to offer our newest programming, Fred's Camp Sampler Menu (Please see below to experience our New Sampler Menu). Twice a week all campers participate in sports & games, with stronger emphasis on refining the skills campers already possess, as well as learning more advanced sports techniques. They showcase these skills throughout the summer in weekly senior camp unit activities such as World Cup Soccer and Senior Camp Olympics. Campers also keep an edge on the competition by participating in various weekly tournaments, including dodgeball, capture the flag, and Ultimate Frisbee.

Swimming:

Senior campers partake in 4 swim periods a week (engaging in a lessons based swim program). The focus of these lessons is to help swimmers improve their basic skills, as well as allowing experienced swimmers a chance to fine-tune and enhance their repertoire of strokes. To reward them for working hard during lessons, campers are occasionally led in organized games, which allow them to further practice their skills.

The excitement builds off campus with weekly field trips to water parks, ball games, and a few suprise trips along the way. Senior campers also partake in an extended day as well as the annual Lock In Sleepover on the campus of DePaul University.

Tween camp consists of children entering 6th-8th grades. The children are grouped by gender.  In addition to the other activities listed above, the children go on field trips 3 days a week and have an extended day approximately once a week. During the last week of camp there is an overnighter at DePaul

AFTER CAMP CARE

For those working parents or parents in need of a longer camp day, we offer an extended day until 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday. Those choosing this program may do so during the application process or add it at a later day.
