To ensure the highest level of safety for all campers, during dismissal transportation, changes must be called into the camp office by 1:30 pm. If your child doesn't ride a bus, pick-up will begin at 3:00 pm. We appreciate your patience and cooperation

An extended day until 6:00 p.m. is available for $25 per day/per child.
You will be charged for aftercamp if you sign your child out on a colored
piece of paper. Charges begin promptly at 3:30 p.m.There will be no
aftercamp on Thursday, July 2. There will also be no After Camp
on Fridays. DePaul closes their facilities at 3:00 PM on Fridays
and all campers will need to be picked up by 4:00 every Friday.


The summer camp office is located in the DePaul Athletic Training Center, 2323 N. Sheffield. The phone number is 773-325-FRED (3733). Once camp begins, please use this number (7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) for questions regarding changes in transportation, absences and general day-to-day information. Please leave absence information and transportation changes on the voice mail along with your phone number. If you need to reach Mark after camp hours, he can be reached after 7:00 p.m. at 773-818-8036.


NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND CAMP WITHOUT SUBMITTED FORMS. If your child needs to receive medicine (including keeping an Epi pen at camp) while at camp, please print out the physician's signature form, which must be completed by both physician and parent, and upload back into the system. If you would like to check if we received it, you may log in and under Forms and Documents you will see what has been received. Fred's Camp cannot administer medications without this form.


The calendars will be available online after June 20.


Bus schedules will be emailed approximately 1-2 week before each session begins. If you have any questions/ changes (i.e. morning or afternoon bus only), call Jodi 773-818-8027 ASAP. Once camp begins, please only use the camp phone number 773-325-3733 to reach Jodi.


Minor bruises, scratches and cuts will be taken care of at camp. If it is anything more serious, we will call you or your emergency number. If emergency care is required, we will go to Lurie Children's Hospital or the closest medical facility. During our staff orientation, most of our Senior staff will become certified in CPR/Red Cross and Epi Pen trained.


Parents are to send peanut/tree nut free lunches every day except Friday, which is our cookout day. We will provide beverages every day and a snack before the campers go home. Lunches are refrigerated as soon as your children arrive at camp. Please send your child's lunch in a labeled bag marked with his/her name. On trip day, please do not send a lunch that can spoil as lunches are not refrigerated that day. There will be no cookout on Friday, August 14.


Tween Camp: Monday
Senior Camp: Tuesday
Junior Camp: Wednesday

We leave camp around 9:15 a.m. and will be away the entire day. The calendar will list the various trips. Your child will return home at the usual time unless indicated that it is an extended day.


Depending on what grade your child is in, we will be swimming 2-4 times per week under the direction of our own Water Safety Instructors (WSI). Each swim period includes about 30 minutes of instruction. Please send a bathing suit and towel every day, unless notified by camp, as we often have water activities on our trip days.



2nd Graders will have an extended day on August 12th, but they will not be sleeping over. More information regarding pick up time will be sent closer to that day.

3rd Grade – Tweens

August 7th – DePaul Athletic Center

(Campers are picked up from camp on August 13th at 9:30 AM)


Unless otherwise notified, the Tween extended day is Thursday.

JK - 1st Grade Campers: 

2nd - 8th Grade Campers:  

Campers will have the opportunity to meet their counselors and other key staff. Parents who have more than one child in camp only have to attend one meetin. We will be giving out camp t-shirts and selling additional shirts. Camp backpacks, caps and other items will also be available for purchase. It is not necessary to notify us if you are unable to attend. You may designate a friend to pick up your child's t-shirt and group information. The format for this meeting will allow parents, campers and staff to get to know each other.


Tuesday, July 14 and Tuesday, August 4

On these days you will be able to observe swimming during your child's swim time. We will not have the swim times until camp begins, but it will be in the morning.
